Psalm 95:6-7: “Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker; for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care.

Worship should be more than just singing songs at church on Sunday mornings. It needs to be an integral part of our lives – a lifestyle. But how do we make worship a lifestyle? How do we stay rooted and connected to God in everything we do?

One of the biggest challenges people face is allowing God to take first place in all things – including their thoughts, actions, habits, and routines. Life often gets busy and stressful, and it’s easy to forget about making Him the central focus of all we do. We may have become so used to compartmentalizing our time with God into a specific activity or time slot during the day or day of the week (Sunday Morning) that it becomes easy for us to become disconnected from Him when life gets hectic.

A key to living a life rooted and connected to God is prioritizing Him in all aspects of your life – devoting time each day to cultivate your relationship with God. Find activities or moments during your day where you can consciously recognize His presence in your life. Take a few minutes over coffee or while taking a walk outside – whatever works best for you – but set aside some intentional moments with Him throughout your routine where you can rest in His presence.

But don’t stop there! Make sure to incorporate what you learn through worshipping Him into practical steps you can take that show others who He is beyond words. Only as we surrender our lives entirely to him will we be transformed – overflowing with good works He prepared ahead of time for us (Ephesians 2:10).

Taking the time to make worship a lifestyle can be challenging, but with the right steps, it doesn’t have to be. Here are five easy-to-apply action steps to help you make worshipping God a lifestyle and stay rooted in Him throughout your day.

  1. Prioritize time with God in your daily routine – start by setting aside 10 minutes each day to interact and be present with Him.
  2. Listen for God’s voice, even in the small moments of your day, and note how He speaks to you. Try keeping a journal.
  3. Listen to worship music throughout the day.
  4. Give thanks for God’s blessings and allow those blessings to become an opportunity for further worship.
  5. Incorporate what you learn through worshipping Him into practical steps that show others who He is through action rather than words alone.

By making worship a lifestyle, God’s love for us will no longer be an occasional thought but become a daily part of our lives. Through prayerful meditation and applying these five action steps, you can make worshipping God a regular part of your life.
