“Be still and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10).
This simple yet profound verse reminds us to pause and be mindful of God’s presence in our lives. We live in an ever-changing world full of demands, tasks, and obligations. It can be easy for our busy life to be so crowded that we leave no room for God. Are you purposeful in taking time each day to keep a healthy balance between rest and being productive; we need time to recharge to do the things we are called to do with joy and energy.
What gets in the way of making this a priority?
Many people today let their work consume them or feel overwhelmed by their responsibilities. Our fast-paced cultures lead us away from being mindful of how we spend our time, but we mustn’t get too caught up in what needs to get done immediately and forget about what matters most – time in the presence of the King. When we become so focused on what needs to be done next or worry about finishing something, it can leave little time for slowing down enough to recognize His presence.
When we prioritize time in the presence of the Lord each day, it profoundly affects how our days unfold. We gain clarity and perspective on difficult situations; find peace amidst chaos; discover direction and guidance when faced with tough decisions; receive strength when weak; and experience comfort knowing He is always there regardless of our circumstances.
In all the busyness of life, nothing will bring more refreshing than uninterrupted time in His presence.
