Holy Tuesday: When Truth Didn’t Flinch

People praying at the Western Wall in Jerusalem, the remaining structure of the ancient Temple where Jesus taught during Holy Week

Tuesday of Holy Week was intense.

Jesus knew the cross was just days away, and yet He spent the day teaching.
But not in a peaceful classroom.
He was in the Temple, surrounded by religious leaders who were trying to trap Him. Question after question. Pushback. Resistance.

Still, He kept speaking truth.
And He kept leading with love.

He told parables that challenged pride.
He called out hypocrisy, but not to embarrass. He wanted people to see the truth and turn back.
He even said the greatest commandment was to love God with all your heart and to love your neighbor as yourself.

In the middle of tension, He stayed focused.
In the middle of pressure, He stayed grounded.

That’s what stood out to me today.

Because a lot of us live in that middle.
Work is tense.
Conversations are complicated.
Culture feels chaotic.
And sometimes we’re not sure if we should speak or stay quiet.

Jesus reminds us we can do both:
Speak truth.
Lead with love.
And let our posture reflect both grace and conviction.

You don’t have to win every argument.
But you can live like Jesus did on Holy Tuesday.
Grounded. Present. Unshaken. Loving anyway.

A Simple Prayer

Lord, help me live with the kind of clarity and calm Jesus showed. When things feel tense or uncertain, help me speak with wisdom and love without losing Your heart. Let my life reflect truth—and let that truth always be wrapped in grace.
Amen.
