The Power of Showing Up

I walked into the kitchen this morning and found a broken bowl on the floor. Glass everywhere.

I just wanted a cup of coffee, but before I could even think about making it, I had to grab some shoes and a broom. Not exactly the way I wanted to start my day.

After cleaning it up, I finally sat down to write, but I wasn’t feeling particularly motivated. No big inspiration. No clear direction. Honestly, I thought about skipping it altogether.

But that’s exactly why I needed to sit down and write anyway.

Some of the most important things in life don’t happen because we feel inspired. They happen because we choose to show up, even when we don’t feel like it.

Faithfulness Over Feelings

We all have moments when we don’t feel like showing up.

We don’t feel like working out, but we do it anyway, and later we’re glad we did.

We don’t feel like reading the Bible, but we open it, and God speaks in ways we didn’t expect.

We don’t feel like going to church, but we go, and suddenly that message feels like it was meant just for us.

Growth happens when we commit to faithfulness, not just when we feel like it.

Galatians 6:9 says, "Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."

That verse isn’t about waiting until we feel motivated. It’s about persisting even when we don’t see results yet.

The Days That Make the Difference

The moments that shape us aren’t always the big ones. Sometimes, it’s the small, everyday choices that build something lasting.

A few years from now, I won’t remember this specific morning or how I felt. But if I keep showing up, if I keep writing, keep sharing, and keep staying faithful to what God’s put in my heart, that’s what will make the difference.

That’s true in so many areas of life.

You don’t build strong faith by reading Scripture once in a while. You build it by spending time in God’s Word day after day.

You don’t develop deep relationships by showing up when it’s convenient. You strengthen them by being present consistently.

You don’t see results in your leadership, your work, or your spiritual life by making big efforts here and there. It’s the small, steady steps that matter.

Even when you don’t feel like it. Even when no one notices.

Keep Showing Up

Maybe today, you’re not seeing the results you hoped for. Maybe you’ve been praying, working, serving, or leading, and you feel like it’s not making much of a difference.

Let this be your reminder. It is.

Faithfulness matters. Obedience matters. The habit of showing up, even when you don’t feel like it, matters.

One day, you’ll look back and realize all those small moments added up to something significant.

So whatever it is—prayer, worship, reading the Word, serving others, or growing as a leader—keep showing up.

A Prayer for Today

Lord, thank You for reminding me that faithfulness matters. Help me to show up, even when I don’t feel like it, even when I don’t see immediate results. Strengthen my heart when I grow weary, and remind me that every small step of obedience is part of something greater. Help me to stay committed, knowing that You are working even when I can’t see it. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
