But have you noticed how often people are looking down?

Phones in hand while driving.
Scrolling at stoplights.
Walking across parking lots while texting.
Conversations half-had because the screen won.

In the rush to stay connected, how much are we missing?

A subtle smile from someone we love.
The sunlight breaking through the trees.
A stranger who could use a kind word.
A quiet moment that could shift our whole day—if we noticed.

Proverbs 17:24 says,
"A discerning person keeps wisdom in view, but a fool’s eyes wander to the ends of the earth."

Maybe wisdom looks like slowing down.
Being where your feet are.
Looking up.

Today, don’t miss what’s right in front of you.

Lord, help me look up today. Help me pay attention to what You’ve placed around me—people, moments, beauty, and purpose. Don’t let me miss the small things that carry meaning. Amen.
