Have you ever felt like you were the only one in the fight? I want to encourage you today by letting you know you’ve got family out there willing to share the burden by praying with you and for you.
When looking at the Lord’s Prayer we often times focus on that second word Father – which is quite important but when we connect Father to the word Our it means so much more.
Our Father – gives us a place of common ground. Jesus said when you pray this is how you should pray – Our Father – those two words say to be in unity. It’s about a connected relationship.
In Acts were told the believers met together and prayed together – it says when they were all together in one accord (in unity) that is when the Holy Spirit was poured out on the day of Pentecost Acts 2:1-4. It can be the same in your life as well. When you are in Unity with Jesus in prayer you too can experience your own day of Pentecost.
Yeah, you might be going through hell on earth right now. It might even seem like you are all alone, but when you pray Our Father you need to understand you are part of a family. The Word tells us we are co-heirs with Christ. When you pray you need to know that you aren’t in the fight alone. Our Father – means you’ve got family that’s in this with you! And more important than the 2 billion plus that carries the label Christian today you’ve got Jesus Christ himself. He is interceding on your behalf.
Those words our father being the first two words that Jesus gives us when it comes to prayer says our connection with him is about a relationship. Jesus wanted us to realize that we are children of God. We should trust Him because He loves us and wants what is best for us.
If you’re feeling disconnected to God- pray Our Father and know you belong.
You’re not alone. Drop a comment and let me know how I can pray for you today.
